Labour Update: Schools Reopening

This afternoon, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) has announced that all members will be returning to work tomorrow, Nov. 8, 2022 following confirmation from the Government of Ontario regarding the revokement of Bill 28.

As a result, all schools in Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board will reopen to in-person learning tomorrow, Nov. 8, 2022. All activities will resume as normal.

We understand that the last few days have been challenging times for students, staff, and family members, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

All members of CUPE are and continue to be vital parts of our school and Board communities and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back in-person tomorrow.

Provincial negotiations will continue with both CUPE and the government returning to the negotiating table, and we are hopeful an agreement will be reached soon.
