October 24 marks the system-wide Faith Day for the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board

It’s a special day dedicated to fostering spirit, unity, and our shared Catholic mission across the system.

On this professional activity (PA) day, staff come together in their respective schools to reflect, learn, and celebrate their faith in community.

In the days leading up to Faith Day, we asked students across PVNC Catholic: How are we living our faith in school?

Here’s what some of them had to say:

“I run the Unity and Diversity Club at our school,” said Tyra Williams ,Grade 12 student at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School. “Getting to see other students’ perspectives allows us to unify in our faith in loving God and loving each other.”

“Reflection, prayer, and helping those in need,” said Juanita Arobieke,Grade 8 student at Monsignor O’Donoghue Catholic Elementary School. “Many schools celebrate Black History Month or Orange Shirt Day, which helps us to learn about care, respect and equality for all cultures.”

“We do a food drive and  then we say a prayer on the announcements every morning, as well as the land acknowledgement.” added Moira Button, Grade 8 student at St. Martin Catholic Elementary School.

“Having mass every month and our choir sings and we all get to praise God and feel so close to everyone and loved,” said Sophia Beauchamp, Grade 10 student at St. Mary CSS.

“I see faith in the friendships we make,” said Grace Powers, Grade 8 student at Monsignor O’Donoghue CES.
