Students and staff at St. Luke Catholic Elementary School in Downeyville went above and beyond for this year’s Terry Fox campaign, smashing their fundraising goal of $5,000 to raise an impressive $6,644 in support of cancer research.

The school community rallied behind the cause with enthusiasm, motivated by a series of fun incentives that brought energy and laughter to the campaign.

Highlights included staff members getting their hair spray-painted, students enjoying an extended recess and pajama day, and the top two fundraisers earning the coveted title of Principal for a Day along with a special lunch at a local bakery.

“Our entire community, home, school and parish, has helped support this year’s goal and we are so proud of surpassing the goal of $5,000,” said Rebecca Brady, Principal. “Our little community worked very hard to achieve what we did and we had a lot of fun along the way! It speaks volumes about the generous community St. Luke belongs to.”

And the fun isn’t over yet, there’s a buzz around the school that Principal Brady may soon have to kiss a farm animal, fulfilling one last lighthearted promise to celebrate the school’s success.
