About Patrick Rivard
With over twenty years of leadership experience in the fields of education and human services, Patrick Rivard is uniquely qualified to lead communities and organizations in understanding the traumatic impact of a pandemic. Rivard brings a wealth of experience to the North American Centre for Threat Assessment and Trauma Response (NACTATR) as a five-year national trainer in Traumatic Event Systems (TES), and Violence Risk Threat Assessment (VTRA). Rivard has been the keynote speaker for many organizations across Canada, speaking to the ways and importance of creating reasonable meaning in the challenges a pandemic brings to the human experience. He is a contributor and co- author of the nationally distributed Guidelines for Re-Entry into the School Setting and Rising to the Challenge: Staying Connected to our Students.
The Post-Pandemic Effect Presentation Overview
No two individuals, families, workplaces or communities are exactly the same. COVID-19 and its variants have demonstrated how broad the range of responses are to the threat of illness and the aftermath of loss. Yet beyond the virus lay the larger social, emotional and traumatic responses to the effects of quarantine and other containment measures. At the core of this presentation are insights into the mental health needs that have evolved throughout the pandemic as well as our growing understanding of how to better assess and intervene.
