Schools take part in Peterborough Petes Ball Hockey program

Feb. 28, 2023

The Peterborough Petes have launched the Petes Ball Hockey Program for students in grades 4-6 in Peterborough and the Kawarthas. The Petes, in collaboration with educator ambassadors in each school, are providing all necessary equipment, training, and support required to play ball hockey.

During an official launch of the program in February, students at St. Paul CES Lakefield had a chance to play a short game with the players, participate in a photo-op and shooting drill, as well as ask the players questions about being a hockey player.

The Petes Ball Hockey Program will aid in the grassroots development of the sport of hockey in Peterborough. With a goal of eliminating all barriers to participation in hockey, the Petes are providing all necessary equipment and training to participating schools, with a particular focus on students who have previously faced obstacles preventing hockey participation.
