PVNC Catholic seeking consultation on proposed changes to Transportation Directional Policy

The Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board is reviewing how it delivers transportation to families within its jurisdiction and is proposing three main changes:

• Changing the eligibility distances for students in grades 1 to 3 from 1 k.m. to 1.6 km to align our practices with Ministry of Education funding and the practices of our coterminous board.
• Moving from an automatic registration process for eligible families to an annual opt-in process to create better efficiencies for all families using transportation services. 
• Adding commitments to encourage Active School Travel, to promote the benefits of students walking or wheeling to school.
