PVNC Catholic hosting second parent/guardian engagement night: Supporting Your Child in Math Level Transitions

Math@Home: Empowering Parents, Enriching Minds

The Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board is pleased to offer a three-part engagement series to empower parents/guardians to foster math learning at home.

This parent/guardian outreach is part of the Board’s Math Achievement Action Plan to boost math support inside and outside the classroom. The virtual sessions, which are free and open to any parent/guardian who registers, will take place in November, February and April.

Session 2 – Thursday, February 15, 2024 – 6 to 7 p.m.

Topic: Supporting the Transition Between Elementary and Secondary School Mathematics

Target Audience: Parents of Students in Grades 6-8

In this interactive session, parents of students in grades 6, 7, 8 will receive information on the Destreamed Grade 9 Course and how best to support their child in transitioning to high school. Tips and strategies for effective transitions will be provided from secondary staff.
