PVNC accepting applications for Peterborough County Trustee

The Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board is seeking a Catholic Trustee to represent separate school ratepayers for Peterborough County.
The appointed trustee will serve with the PVNC Catholic District School board for the duration of the current term, which ends Nov. 14, 2022. The Oct. 24, 2022 municipal election will determine the successful Trustee candidates for the November 15, 2022 – November 14, 2026 term of office.
Applicants to fill the vacant seat must be:
- A Canadian citizen, at least 18 years of age and residing within the jurisdiction of the Board;
- A baptized and practicing Roman Catholic, who is shown as an English-language Roman Catholic school supporter on the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) form;
- Not an employee of the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board, or any other district school board, or school authority in Ontario.
Catholic Trustee applicants are invited to submit an application package including the following:
- A cover letter.
- A curriculum vitae outlining personal and professional experience.
Application packages for this position must be submitted to the Director’s Office via email to [email protected] by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Candidates who are being considered for the position will be required to make a brief presentation to Trustees at a special in-camera Board meeting on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, indicating their interest in serving as a Trustee for our Board and their dedication to Catholic education.
The Peterborough County Trustee position has been vacant since Trustee Emmanuel Pinto resigned from his position at the March 22, 2022 board meeting.
Pinto was elected as a first-time trustee in the 2018 municipal election. During his time as a trustee, Pinto served on a number of board committees including Policy Development and Special Education.
