PTBO Police honour St. Peter Special Olympians
Sept. 25, 2020
Peterborough Police Chief Scott Gilbert and the Peterborough Police Services rolled out the red carpet for the St. Peter Catholic Secondary School Traditional Basketball Team, which was named in the summer as the Special Olympics Ontario School Team of the Year for 2020.
Police services awarded each player and coach on the team with an individual award on Sept. 25, 2020.
Special Olympics Ontario selected the team as a winner based on “strong leadership skills, success, and dedication to the Special Olympics movement.”
An award presentation will take place virtually, currently scheduled for Oct. 8, 2020.
“On behalf of Special Olympics Ontario, thank you for your dedication to your sports; for your energy, your enthusiasm, and for being a role model in the true spirit of Special Olympics.
“Congratulations on being selected as the winner of the 2020 School Team of the Year award.”
