Opt-in for School Bus Transportation in City of Kawartha Lakes for 2025-2026 School Year

Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, families in the City of Kawartha Lakes whose children attend schools within the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board and are eligible for busing will be required to confirm their intent to use transportation services by completing an opt-in process.

This change is being introduced to:

  • Improve efficiency in our transportation system
  • Eliminate unused bus seats
  • Reduce costs associated with unnecessary routes
  • Align with the opt-in process already in place for PVNC Catholic families in other regions

Transportation in the City of Kawartha Lakes is provided by the Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) on behalf of PVNC Catholic. While TLDSB manages busing for both their own students and PVNC Catholic students in the region, only PVNC Catholic families are being asked to opt-in at this time.

How to Opt-In

Visit: www.mybustoschool.ca

For those who already have a parent account:

  • Sign in and select “Online Forms & Requests”
  • Choose the Opt-In/Opt-Out Request Form
  • Complete and submit the form

For those without a parent account:

  • Click “Create Account”
  • Add your child(ren)
  • Complete the Opt-In/Opt-Out form for each student

Troubleshooting: For anyone without access to the internet or are having trouble accessing the opt-in request form, please reach out to their school for assistance. 

Important Notes:

  • The opt-in form applies to home address transportation only.
  • If a child uses an alternate address (e.g., child care or custody-related), parents/guardians must make a new request through the school each year. In these cases, the opt-in is handled automatically.

Deadline to opt in: July 4, 2025

For parents/guardians, completing the opt-in process ensures their child will have a seat on the bus for the coming school year—and helps PVNC Catholic deliver more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective transportation service across our Board.
