PVNC welcomes new Superintendent of Learning Jonathan Di Ianni
Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board is pleased to formally welcome Jonathan Di Ianni to the position of Superintendent of Learning, overseeing the Peterborough and Peterborough County schools.
Jonathan, who is also the Board’s COVID lead for the 2021-2022 school year, has been serving in his new role since Aug. 23, 2021.
Jonathan began his career in education in 2003 at the Durham Catholic District School Board as a teacher and administrator. He joined PVNC in 2018 and, most recently, served as Principal of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School and the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Virtual School.
“As principal, it has been a privilege to serve and partner with the families and staff of PVNC in order to welcome, engage, teach, inspire and care for students. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the senior team as Superintendent of Learning and I look forward to continuing to serve and enhance relationships throughout the PVNC community.”
Jonathan has a Master’s Degree in Education: Language, Culture, and Teaching with York University. He is passionate about the importance of strengthening relationships – critical to learning – with all stakeholders to promote and enhance student achievement and well-being. Throughout the past 19 years, Jonathan has served in a variety of roles fostering opportunities for youth to experience personal growth and connection to others and their learning through varying experiences both at school and in the community.
As a principal and throughout his time as an educator, Jonathan has been active in committees centred on safe schools, technology, employee/employer relations and secondary school athletics.
Jonathan and his wife Laura, who is also a PVNC educator, are raising three children: Aila, Evelyn, and Michael. The two share a dedication to their children, to their faith, and to the larger communities in education who they serve.
