Flags lowered to half-mast in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

With a heavy heart, we have lowered the flag at the Catholic Education Centre to half-mast and have asked our schools to do the same in recognition of the passing of Canada’s longest-reigning Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

For generations, our students have learned and our educators have taught in school spaces adorned with Her Majesty’s portrait.

She has been a constant presence in our schools for generations. In the days to come, our school communities will find ways to recognize her life and the legacy of her reign, which spanned so many decades.

We offer prayers to the Royal Family and all those affected today by Her Majesty’s passing.
