Everyday Heroes: Page Teatro, Dan Mann, and Jori McMahon

Mar. 21, 2025

We are honoured to present this week’s Everyday Heroes for the 2024-2025 school year.

Our everyday heroes are the epitome of compassion, devotion and care, transforming everyday tasks into extraordinary impacts.

Their subtle yet powerful actions not only elevate the experiences of colleagues but also enrich the lives of the students we proudly serve. They are more than just supportive adults or empathetic peers; they are the vibrant pulse of our educational community, profoundly touching the lives of all they encounter.

Our everyday heroes come in all forms, quietly making a difference in our schools and board offices, yet very often they overlook or downplay their own actions.

This week we are celebrating Page Teatro, Dan Mann, and Jori McMahon.

Page Teatro

Page Teatro Page is an Educational Assistant at Holy Cross CSS in Peterborough.

Page was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“It is with great enthusiasm that I nominate Page Teatro for recognition as an outstanding staff member. Page is a truly remarkable individual who exemplifies the qualities of dedication, initiative, and collaboration.

From the moment she steps into the workplace, Page is always engaged and proactive. She never waits to be asked but instead takes the initiative to ensure everything runs smoothly. Whether it’s supporting students or assisting fellow staff, Page is constantly on the go, always contributing in meaningful ways.

Beyond her exceptional work ethic, Page is a person who builds strong, positive relationships. She has an innate ability to connect with both students and staff, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Her kindness, approachability, and genuine care for others make her someone people are naturally drawn to. Whether offering assistance, giving encouragement, or simply lending a listening ear, Page’s interactions are always thoughtful and impactful.

Her ability to balance so many tasks while maintaining such a positive attitude is truly inspiring. Page is not only a tremendous help but a joy to work with, and her contributions positively influence the entire community. For these reasons and more, Page Teatro is more than deserving of recognition as an outstanding staff member.”

His approachability and caring demeanour create a classroom environment where students feel supported and valued. Dan’s students often seek out his classes, not only for the engaging lessons he teaches but also because of the genuine interest he takes in their success and well-being. Beyond his role in the classroom, Dan selflessly gives his time to the LINK program, helping grade 9 students with their transition to high school. His commitment to supporting others and his unwavering dedication to his students make him a true hero. Dan’s legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire those who have had the privilege to learn from him.”
