Everyday Heroes: Clara Leahy, Glenn Lloyd, and Jocelyne Laperle
May 15, 2026
We are honoured to present this week’s Everyday Heroes for the 2025-2026 school year.
Our everyday heroes are the epitome of compassion, devotion and care, transforming everyday tasks into extraordinary impacts.
Their subtle yet powerful actions not only elevate the experiences of colleagues but also enrich the lives of the students we proudly serve. They are more than just supportive adults or empathetic peers; they are the vibrant pulse of our educational community, profoundly touching the lives of all they encounter.
Our everyday heroes come in all forms, quietly making a difference in our schools and board offices, yet very often they overlook or downplay their own actions.
This week we are celebrating Clara Leahy, Glenn Lloyd, and Jocelyne Laperle.
Clara Leahy

Clara is a Teacher at St. Stephen CSS in Bowmanville.
Clara was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“Clara Leahy consistently strives to create an inclusive and positive community at St. Stephens.
In addition to creating an engaging classroom setting, she often takes on extracurricular responsibilities such as coaching and being the teaching lead for the Queer Students Association.
In addition to her commitments, Clara takes personal time to support other clubs, sports, or initiatives by showing up as a cheer leader. She is often an emotional support for both students and staff, and constantly seeks to uplift the people around her. She never fails to have a positive attitude and a smile on her face in her interactions with students, and is never too busy to have a conversation when someone is looking for support.
Clara embodies what it means to be a selfless Everyday Hero, often putting others’ needs before her own. She is truly deserving of recognition and appreciation for her contributions to our community!“ |
Glenn Lloyd

Glenn is Program Lead for Cybersecurity at PVNC Catholic
Glenn was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“I truly believe it’s Glenn’s mission at the Catholic Education Centre (CEC) to serve. No matter what he is working on he immediately stops to support the struggles of others. Whether it’s a colleague across the hallway or an educator on the phone or in at a school. He best supports those who would identify as “not tech savvy” explaining things using a teaching lens rather than assuming everyone should know.
He is such an asset to PVNC Catholic both in his skill set and his personality. He is always one to share care and concern for the well-being of his co-workers and just as easily shares a good laugh. Glen is a invaluable resource and a joy to work with.
I know he has been an “everyday hero” to many he has supported, often making their work easier.” |
Jocelyne Laperle

Jocelyne is a Teacher at St. Dominic CES in Lindsay.
Jocelyne was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“Jocelyne is a new French Immersion teacher at our Board / school.
She has become an exceptional addition to PVNC Catholic. She has extreme knowledge of the French Immersion program and what standards it should be. She has coached, mentored, offered advice, shared resources, and will always lend a helping hand to her peers who are new to teaching French Immersion. Jocelyne holds her students at a high standard and is well liked by them as she offers a challenging, fun, interactive, dedicated, and inspiring classroom. She has become well respected with students and her colleagues.
Our French Immersion Program has been boosted and we are truly blessed here at St Dominic’s to have her join our team. Jocelyne is simply exceptional.“ |
We would like to thank Clara, Glenn, and Jocelyne for their commitment to creating a culture of faith, hope and love to ensure equity and well-being at our board.
