Everyday Heroes: Allan Orzechowski, Nicole Williamson, and Danielle Weidmark

May 22, 2026

We are honoured to present this week’s Everyday Heroes for the 2025-2026 school year.

Our everyday heroes are the epitome of compassion, devotion and care, transforming everyday tasks into extraordinary impacts.

Their subtle yet powerful actions not only elevate the experiences of colleagues but also enrich the lives of the students we proudly serve. They are more than just supportive adults or empathetic peers; they are the vibrant pulse of our educational community, profoundly touching the lives of all they encounter.

Our everyday heroes come in all forms, quietly making a difference in our schools and board offices, yet very often they overlook or downplay their own actions.

This week we are celebrating Allan Orzechowski, Nicole Williamson, and Danielle Weidmark.

Allan Orzechowski

Allan Orzechowski Allan is a Teacher at Holy Family CES in Bowmanville.

Allan was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“We would like to nominate Allan Orzechowski as an Everyday Hero.

Allan is a remarkably kind and genuine individual who consistently goes above and beyond for both staff and students. Whether he is staying in for math help or leading the basketball and games clubs, his primary goal is ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed and enjoy their school experience.

As our School’s Faith Ambassador, Allan leads by example, grounding our community in compassion and grace. He has a unique gift for seeing the best in everyone; he builds authentic relationships and takes the time to truly know his students. He cares deeply for his coworkers: he’s the first person to give you a hug when you’ve had a bad day, and brought coffee for his female coworkers on International Women’s Day.

His unwavering positivity makes him a literal ray of sunshine in our building, capable of bringing a smile to anyone’s face.

Nicole Williamson

Nicole Williamson Nicole is a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) at St. Dominic CES in Lindsay.

Nicole was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Nicole has a truly selfless heart and brings a feeling of magic and joy to the classroom every single day.

She consistently goes above and beyond with unwavering dedication, compassion, and a genuine love for the children and families she serves.
Nicole has a remarkable ability to make every child feel seen, valued, and safe, creating a welcoming and supportive environment where learning thrives. She also fosters strong relationships with families, ensuring they feel heard and appreciated.

What truly sets her apart is her boundless energy and positivity. Nicole shows up each day with enthusiasm, warmth, and a smile that lifts everyone around her. Her sense of humor brings joy to even the busiest of days, and her kindness is felt long after any conversation with her is over.

She truly embodies what it means to be an everyday hero, and there is no one more deserving of this recognition.

Danielle Weidmark

Danielle Weidmark

Danielle is an Educational Assistant (EA) at Monsignor Leo Cleary CES in Courtice.

Danielle was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Danielle is an everyday hero whose positivity and optimism brighten our entire school community.

She constantly takes initiative, whether coaching floor hockey during her breaks, helping with a school Jays Care Baseball team, or organizing school-wide events like an Easter egg hunt using her own money. Danielle is a passionate advocate for students with special needs, creating meaningful work and life-skills opportunities, including a student-run store that builds confidence, responsibility, and social skills. She forms relationships with students, parents, and staff, always collaborating to solve problems and support others.

Danielle’s kindness, leadership, and dedication make her a valuable coworker, friend, and role model!

We would like to thank Allan, Nicole and Danielle for their commitment to creating a culture of faith, hope and love to ensure equity and well-being at our board.
