Storm Update #2: PVNC Catholic School Status Update for April 1, 2025
Mar. 31, 2025
As a follow up to today’s previous communication, we would like to share the following updates with respect to school openings and transportation for Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
Clarington:
All schools in Clarington will be open, and transportation will operate as usual. For updates on individual routes, please visit www.STSCO.ca.
Northumberland:
All schools in Northumberland will be open, except for St. Mary Catholic Elementary School in Campbellford, which is closed due to a power outage. Transportation to Northumberland schools will be cancelled. Parents are responsible for transporting their children to school.
For updates on Northumberland transportation in the coming days, please check www.STSCO.ca.
We will continue to monitor the situation at St. Mary CES Campbellford and will provide updates as necessary.
Peterborough and City of Kawartha Lakes:
Due to ongoing issues from yesterday’s ice storm, all schools in Peterborough, Peterborough County, and the City of Kawartha Lakes will remain closed tomorrow (April 1) for students and staff of the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board.
This decision follows a thorough assessment of the conditions at our school sites, which are still affected by power outages, hazardous debris, and unsafe road conditions.
We understand that school closures cause challenges for families, and we appreciate your patience as we prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and communities.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide an update tomorrow regarding the status of schools for Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
