Two Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 at St. Catherine Catholic Elementary School, Peterborough

Dear parents, guardians and staff,
As always, the well-being of our students and staff is our top priority. With that in mind, we are letting you know that Peterborough Public Health (PPH) has notified us of one confirmed case of COVID-19 at St. Catherine CES. The identity of the individual is protected by privacy legislation and will not be shared.
Peterborough Public Health has confirmed that the current cases at St. Catherine CES do not meet the definition of aschool outbreak.
What we can share is that the individual has been isolating at home and did not attend school while they were infectious. The individual will remain at home until the health unit advises they may return to school. PeterboroughPublic Health has investigated and has determined that no St. Catherine students or staff members are deemedhigh-risk contacts related to this case.
Our school remains open, and as always, we will follow all PPH recommendations to help keep students and staff safe.
We continue to ask all students and staff to complete the daily self-assessment for symptoms before arriving atschool: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening.
We continue to follow all public health and provincial recommendations, including thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all areas; frequent and proper handwashing by everyone in the building; wearing masks; maintaining physical distancing to the fullest extent possible, and following any other steps directed by PPH.
