Decked out in school colours and face paint, students with Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School and St. Peter Catholic Secondary School in Peterborough held their joint annual Terry Fox event, called Move for Terry.

St. Peter CSS students walked from the school through the neighbourhood by the hospital and back again while Holy Cross CSS students later met the group back at the school for lunch, games and the annual Holy Bowl football game between the two schools.

“There’s so much going on and there was a lot of coordination between the schools,” said Kalla Tahon, Grade 12 student and student council member at St. Peter CSS. “The money raised here today with lunch will go to the Terry Fox Foundation.”

Both schools have a longstanding history of being among the top fundraisers in the province for the Terry Fox Foundation – with both ranking in the top 25 along with Holy Trinity CSS and St. Mary CSS last year.

“I’ve been raising money for Terry Fox since I was in Kindergarten. Coming to St. Peter, you can really feel the pride this school takes in raising money for Terry Fox. Everyone looks forward to it every year,” added Tahon. “Just knowing we’re part of something bigger is really impactful.”

Last year, Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board raised $128,286.99 for the cause.

As of Oct. 10, 2025, St. Peter CSS had already raised more than $13,000 for this year’s campaign, which continues for the rest of the month.
