PVNC raises more than $60,000 for four area United Way campaigns
The Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic (PVNC) District School Board is pleased to announce that it has surpassed its United Way fundraising total for 2017.
Through special events at schools and the Catholic Education Centre and payroll contributions by staff, PVNC has raised $60,613 for the four United Way campaigns in our jurisdiction. This year’s campaign goal was set at $60,000 following last year’s total of $55,000.
“As a learning organization committed to the key principles of Catholic Social Teaching and to moving our faith into action, it is fantastic to see our staff and school communities give generously,” Director of Education Michael Nasello said. “From breakfast programs to social services, helplines to emergency shelters, we know that our students and their families rely on essential services supported by the United Way.”
Proceeds will go to Peterborough and District United Way ($41,551), Northumberland United Way ($6,492), Durham United Way ($7,463) and City of Kawartha Lakes United Way ($5,107).
