PVNC Catholic Junior Robotics Competition showcases innovation and teamwork
March 25, 2026
Students across the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board put their skills to the test at this year’s Junior Robotics regional tournaments, a board-wide event designed for Grades 4–6 learners to build critical thinking, coding, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Teams of four students took on five unique challenges using LEGO Spike Prime technology, demonstrating creativity and precision in an exciting, hands-on environment.
Regional tournaments were held at St. Stephen Catholic Secondary School on Feb. 24 for Clarington and Northumberland schools, and at St. Peter Catholic Secondary School on Feb. 26 for students from Peterborough and the City of Kawartha Lakes.
In all, 28 teams from across the board participated in the full-day events, showcasing impressive coding and teamwork abilities.
Congratulations to the regional champions—St. Alphonsus, St. Anne, Monsignor Leo Cleary, St. Anthony, and St. Catherine—who will advance to the central robotics competition at the Catholic Education Centre on March 26.
