Monsignor Leo Cleary CES in Courtice to reopen Tuesday, Oct. 12
Oct. 5, 2021,
The following letter has been sent to staff and families at Monsignor Leo Cleary Catholic Elementary School informing the school community that the school will reopen and resume in-person learning beginning Tuesday, Oct. 12.
Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff,
I am pleased to inform you that the Durham Region Health Department will be lifting our school closure order effective Saturday, Oct. 9.
That means Monsignor Leo Cleary Catholic Elementary School will reopen and we will be returning to in-person learning on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
Please note, those who have been identified as close contacts and who were informed that they are required to isolate, must continue to follow the instructions provided by Durham Region Health Department.
Those who have not been told they are required to isolate may return to school on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
I want to take this opportunity to thank our students, staff and families for your cooperation in transitioning to virtual learning during this time period.
We ask that any students who booked out technology over the closure period and who will be returning to school on Tuesday bring back those devices to their classroom teachers on Tuesday.
Upon reopening, we will continue to follow all public health and provincial recommendations, including thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all areas; frequent and proper handwashing by everyone in the building; wearing masks; maintaining physical distancing to the fullest extent possible, and following any other steps directed by Durham Health.
All students and staff must complete the daily self-assessment for symptoms before arriving at school: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening
As always, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Linda Bier
Principal
