Education Minister Stephen Lecce and MPP Dave Smith virtually join St. Catherine CES classroom
Feb. 18, 2021
Genevieve O’Grady’s Grade 5/6 class at St. Catherine CES enjoyed a virtual classroom visit by Ontario Minister of Education Stephen Lecce and Peterborough-Kawartha MPP Dave Smith on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021.
The class took part in a collaborative lesson about the three branches of government before the Minister and Member of Provincial Parliament answered one-on-one questions from students on a range of issues from the control of COVID-19 to the role of politicians.
Director of Education Joan Carragher, Board Chairperson David Bernier, Trustee Helen McCarthy and Superintendent Tim Moloney joined the classroom virtually for the occasion as well.
I really enjoyed joining this grade 5 class @StCatPVNC with @DaveSmithPtbo to talk about the roles of government and importance of public service.
Dave and I knew that we were chatting with today’s young leaders & tomorrow’s mayors, premiers, & prime ministers. 🇨🇦 pic.twitter.com/OOaamGQTtf
