Important updates for 2020 Grade 8 and Grade 12 graduation ceremonies
May 13, 2020
Grade 12 graduation ceremonies postponed until Oct. 8, 2020
Secondary graduation ceremonies for 2020 have been postponed from this June to Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020. This is the Thursday before Thanksgiving weekend.
Each school will set their own time and communicate the details to students and families. There will not be a Spring Prom in any of our schools this spring, but each secondary school will consult and make plans for some type of social event to celebrate graduation, to be held in conjunction with the fall commencement ceremony in October.
Grade 8 graduation ceremonies to be held virtually during last week of June
Each of our PVNC elementary schools will be holding a virtual Grade 8 graduation ceremony during the last week of June followed by a fall event to be planned by each school community. Each school will set their own date and time and communicate the details to students and families.
The online or virtual ceremony will allow for greetings from school and board staff, a parish priest, the valedictorian, and a recognition of the completion certificates and awards that have been achieved by all of the students. There is the opportunity to include many of the elements that are unique to each school community, and we look to the creativity of each school to put together a memorable online graduation.
