Five PVNC secondary schools rank in top 25 Terry Fox fundraisers in Ontario

St. Peter, Holy Trinity, St. Mary, Holy Cross, and St. Stephen Catholic secondary schools have ranked among the top Terry Fox fundraisers in Ontario for another year in a row during the 2023-24 school year.
St. Peter CSS, which has long been one of the province’s top Terry Fox fundraising schools, completed its fundraising in the second spot this year, having raised $44,358.66 with Holy Trinity CSS jumping into the 8th spot with $16,902.05 raised, Holy Cross CSS ranked 13th raising $14,129.19, St. Mary CSS raised $8.730.43 at 22nd, and St. Stephen CSS entered the top ranks with $8,238.90 at 25th.
“We are profoundly grateful for the support and thank everyone for embodying the values of resilience, determination, and compassion that Terry Fox himself exemplified, and for joining us in our mission to create a world without cancer,” the Terry Fox Foundation wrote in a letter to the Board. “Thank you to the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board and your family of schools for your unwavering support.”
“This marks a significant stride in cancer research, honoring Terry’s indomitable spirit,” remarked Stephen O’Sullivan, Director of Education at PVNC Catholic. “His legacy stands as a cornerstone of Canadian society, and we take pride in the collective efforts of our school communities, both large and small, in support of this vital cause.”
