Everyday Heroes: Emily Frost and Laura Di Ianni

Laura Emily Banner EH

We are honoured to present this week’s Everyday Heroes for the 2022/23 school year.

Every week we celebrate PVNC staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague as an Everyday Hero. Every school and every department in our Board has an Everyday Hero who expresses their kindness, courage and love through simple, ordinary actions that uplift the lives of the people around them and the students we serve. An Everyday Hero is a caring adult, an empathetic colleague, somebody who simply makes going to work each day worthwhile.

This week we are celebrating Emily Frost and Laura Di Ianni.

Emily Frost

Emily Frost EH Emily is a teacher at St. Thomas Aquinas CSS. Emily was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“I don’t think Emily’s day is complete without doing at least one selfless act. She volunteers her extra time to Literacy Club and Cross Country, you will find her going above and beyond to share resources with colleagues, and she truly listens to staff and students alike. She gives everything she has to her students and colleagues everyday with a smile on her face. Her passion for English is clearly seen by her students engaging in the material beyond the lesson, stimulating important discussions they can relate to. She’s someone I truly look up to and aspire to be like. Our community would not be the same without her!”

Laura Di Ianni

“Laura continuously advocates on behalf and services the most vulnerable at PVNC. She is incredibly mindful and builds relationships with families to serve the students most in need while treating them with the respect and dignity they deserve. Laura a powerful voice in providing equity for all students.”

We would like to thank Emily and Laura for their commitment to creating a culture of faith, hope and love to ensure equity and well-being at our board.
