Everyday Heroes: Jackie Shaw, Nikki Tripp, and Aida O’Sullivan

Apr. 4, 2025

We are honoured to present this week’s Everyday Heroes for the 2024-2025 school year.

Our everyday heroes are the epitome of compassion, devotion and care, transforming everyday tasks into extraordinary impacts.

Their subtle yet powerful actions not only elevate the experiences of colleagues but also enrich the lives of the students we proudly serve. They are more than just supportive adults or empathetic peers; they are the vibrant pulse of our educational community, profoundly touching the lives of all they encounter.

Our everyday heroes come in all forms, quietly making a difference in our schools and board offices, yet very often they overlook or downplay their own actions.

This week we are celebrating Jackie Shaw, Nikki Tripp, and Aida O’Sullivan

Jackie Shaw

Jackie was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Jackie goes above and beyond in creating a positive, and supportive environment within St. Stephen C.S.S. She consistently demonstrate kindness, humour, patience, and dedication, taking the time to connect with her students, while making sure their needs are met—both academically and emotionally. Whether it’s staying after school to help a student or offering words of encouragement when times are tough, or even as the Teacher in Charge, Jackie is a constant source of inspiration. She exemplifies what it means to be a leader in the classroom, quietly making a lasting impact on every student, and staff member, she inspires.”
