Earlier this month, students from St. Michael Catholic Elementary School had the opportunity to put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test during a hands-on learning experience at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School’s Design Technology Lab.

On June 2, the Grade 7/8 class visited St. Mary CSS to learn the basics of C++ Arduino programming while building an LED light circuit and working with a custom 3D-printed Arduino car. The engaging activity introduced students to coding, electronics, and design technology in a practical and interactive way.

The event was made possible through Community Project funding provided through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), helping students explore pathways in skilled trades and technology-related fields while developing valuable STEM skills.

The day offered an exciting glimpse into the world of coding and innovation, inspiring students to continue exploring technology and future career opportunities.
