Attention: Students and Families On Bus Routes Operated by Campeau Bus Lines Ltd.
**Please note: this message applies only to families served by Campeau buses. If you are uncertain if this applies to you, parents and guardians can visit stsco.ca to confirm if their child rides a Campeau bus.
This note provides an important update on contract negotiations between Campeau Bus Lines Ltd. and Unifor, the union representing the company’s school bus drivers.
As part of the negotiations process, Unifor has advised the company that they may be holding a strike vote meeting on Thursday, February 7. Unifor also stated that, in the event of job action, the union is committed to giving parents and the public 72 hours’ notice. Therefore, if a strike vote is taken and if the drivers vote to strike, the earliest service disruption would be Monday, February 11.
Student Transportation Services of Central Ontario (STSCO), therefore, encourages families of students who ride Campeau buses to:
- check the cawebsite often, and stay tuned to local news media, for any possible updates
- consider having alternative plans for getting their children to school in case of a possible strike
- follow @stsco_ca on Twitter for latest news.
We will provide further updates as information becomes available.
