The following letter has been sent to all Northumberland and Kawartha Lakes families on behalf of Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board with important information about COVID-19 vaccination eligibility for youth ages 12 to 17.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students

The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit recommends youth 12 to 17 years of age get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Vaccinating youth protects them from:

  • Being infected with COVID-19
  • Getting sick from COVID-19
  • Spreading COVID-19 to others

Youth 12 to 17 years of age are now able to book an appointment for a free first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at one of the Health Unit’s mass immunization clinics.

There will also be “youth only immunization clinics” during the weeks of June 14th and June 21st. These clinics will be for youth 12 to 17 years old ONLY and occur as follows:

  • Campbellford Curling Club June 21
  • Cobourg Community Centre June 14, 20, 27
  • Fenelon Falls Community Centre June 25
  • Lindsay Exhibition June 15, 17, 19, 22
  • Minden SG Nesbitt Memorial Arena June 26
