St. Joseph CES Students Showcase Creativity and Curiosity Through Art Gallery and Science Fair
May 20, 2026
Students at St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School in Cobourgh had the opportunity to celebrate learning in creative and exciting ways as the school community came together for its annual Art Gallery and Science Fair on May 8.
Families were welcomed into the school to view months of student work and celebrate the talents, creativity, and curiosity of St. Joseph CES students.
Younger students from Kindergarten to Grade 2/3 transformed school spaces into a vibrant Art Gallery, featuring artwork created throughout the school year. Four classes spent time developing their artistic skills and exploring different styles and techniques since September, resulting in a colourful display that parents and guardians were invited to enjoy.
The Art Gallery was organized by teachers Jacquie Bonisteel, Henry Hawkes, Michelle Tatarek, and Elaine Harp, with support from staff members who helped coordinate and display the students’ work.
Meanwhile, students in Grades 3/4 through 8 showcased their problem-solving and investigative skills during the school’s annual Science Fair. Students worked hard to research, experiment, and create projects that reflected their interests and scientific thinking.
Parents and guardians had the opportunity to tour the displays and learn more about each student’s project.
The Science Fair projects were prepared under the guidance of teachers David Burns, Tara Lynn Simpson, Brookelynn Ferguson, and Lori Kendrick.
