It is important to note that full credit summer school courses represent a minimum of  110 hours each. Our online courses are asynchronous. Asynchronous learning refers to learning that students undertake when they are not all in the same place with the teacher at the same time. Examples of asynchronous learning include independent learning, video recordings of lessons and activities, and posted assignments that students work on independently.

Even though online learning is asynchronous, there are regular, (daily in most cases)  due dates for assignments which must be met. Students should be prepared to be learning and working on assignments for a minimum of 6 hours per day.

Typical school credits are taken over a 5 month period during the school year. A summer school credit is compressed into a one month period.

Please speak to your guidance counselor should you have further questions regarding summer school.

Thank you!
