habitat for humanity - pvnc build
A decent roof over your head. It’s something that’s easy to take for granted. For most, the safety, security, love and pride nestled between the bricks and mortar of their home, is as natural and inspiring as a summer sunrise. Unfortunately, others aren’t so lucky. For many, fear dominates the horizon and security, especially for their children, is a distant dream.
In 2008, we as leaders in our Catholic system, are thrilled to have partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build a house for a family in the Peterborough area. The house will be built by employees and friends of the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to begin this three month build in the summer of 2008. “Joining Hands & Hammers in God’s Name” is the theme for our PVNC Habitat for Humanity build project which demonstrates our faith in action. We share the vision of affordable housing with Habitat for Humanity Peterborough and District, and our partnership with Habitat is just one way of making home ownership a dream come true for one family.
Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-profit organization involving Christian and all faith communities with the goal of eliminating poverty housing. Based on a vision of justice for all people, Habitat for Humanity works in Partnership with those in need to help them attain their goal: a simple, decent place to live.
On behalf of all our partners, we encourage you to participate and support this project as a volunteer and/or donor.
