Catholic Virtues

The Board has embraced the "Catholic Virtues into Action" program, which was created to emphasize our Catholic school graduate expectations. The program is designed to help our Catholic schools live out the Gospel message and strengthen our Catholic community.

A virtue is a habit or established capability to perform good actions according to a moral standard. In other words, a virtue is a habit that shows people and God that
I am a good person.

The notion of virtue is deeply rooted in our Catholic-Christian tradition.  In a community of caring, committed partners, we find the space and time to become our best selves. Virtue is increased by two things:
  • Practice: by practicing the virtues, we develop habits of goodness
  • Prayer: by praying, we receive the grace of God to follow Jesus' example in our words and actions
Our "Catholic Virtues into Action" program is divided into the following monthly themes:
