Finance
Financial services provide timely and accurate financial information to trustees, senior staff and the Ministry of Education for use in their decision making processes. The finance staff accomplishes this task by ensuring that they implement and adhere to budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting and internal auditing policies and procedures that are efficient and effective.
The Controller of Finance is responsible for accounting, payroll and purchasing and administrative services. Financial Services responsibilities also include:
- Facilitating the development and filing of the board's budget
- General legislative grants and estimates
- Analyzing and reporting on the budget on an ongoing basis
- Year end audited financial statements and various special grant reports
- Co-ordination of banking services and the financing of the board's capital expenditures
- Internal auditing
- Preparing recommendations for consideration regarding financial policies and procedures
- Preparing reports and submissions to various levels of government
